Two trees living hermetically
Let us read about the tree which was supposed to give
us eternal life, and the tree of the divine ethics, which would give us
understanding of what is Good and what is Evil, according to the Omniscient
Being’s opinion. Point is that Adam and Eve chose to eat the poisoned fruit,
that is, the Serpent´s ethics.
To decode the Genesis discourse it will be necessary
to read the biblical texts with a free mind, this means, to read them always
doubting the human interpretations, and, instead, trying to get the Omniscient
Being’s opinion. This is possible, yes, it is! I am teaching courses on the
ways I created to make possible such a dialogue and even you may also create
your own methods to pursue the same dialogue.
In these courses we’ll investigate the biblical texts
that tell us about the divine dialogue; we’ll learn about past and contemporary
methods for this dialogue and we’ll find out that there are uncountable ways
still to be discovered for God’s sons to understand Him and to perfect the ways
to speak with Him.
Note that, in Genesis 2:9, we learn that God had
created in Eden
many trees that were pleasing to look at. Obviously, everything in Eden had been created
under divine supervision and nothing would work outside such a harmonious
organization, as perfect as its Creator.
Besides the numerous trees, the existence of two of
them that were truly important for man was mentioned; both were growing
together but their purposes were different.
The goal of one of them was to teach man how to
prolong his life, that’s why it was called the Tree of Life; the other one was
teaching man how to know what was Good and what was Evil. In fact man, alone,
without God’s help would not be able to distinguish the right from the wrong.
As symbols, the trees in Eden
were food for the mind, the knowledge that God would give us in Eden, where everything
would move towards perfection, under God’s point of view.
The human beings would be there, in the divine school,
and for that they were required to speak with God about all kinds of knowledge;
God would teach them how to grow all trees of all kinds of knowledge.
In Genesis 2:27, it is said that God imposed one
single law, a law which should be given a very special attention. Using the
Tree of Divine Ethics as a symbol, the judgement about what is good and what is
evil should be sacred, since only the Omniscient Being knows the best decision.
This tree was the most important one, that’s why it was located in a special
place, in the middle of the garden, near the Tree of Life.
God called their attention to the fact that the Tree
of Knowledge of Good and Evil would cause them death, unless they would
dialogue with God before reaching any decision. This means: whoever would
create an ethics law without asking for God’s opinion would move away from the
Tree of Life and towards death; his death and the death of others who would
follow any ethics not given by the direct teaching of God. This means that God
is willing to dialogue with each human being; when such dialogue does not
happen, whatever will be taught to us can endanger our life. Who will tell us
whether a certain teaching is or is not a serpent’s poison? Indeed, He is the
only one able to distinguish Good from Evil! God is the only one able to put a
stamp of Good or Evil in everything taught to us.
It is not wrong to lack faith, this means to be
skeptical about what we are told; what is wrong is not to doubt and not to be
given a means for us to dialogue with our Creator.
In Genesis 3:4, someone represented by the Serpent
brought two lies to the human mind:
1st – one was that they would not die! It
was suggested that, without the divine teaching, human beings would achieve
eternal life;
2nd – a second one was that human beings
would achieve the divine knowledge and, like God, they would decide what would
be Good and what would be Evil with no need to ask God for His teaching.
The serpent chatted with Eve, without God’s presence
and instigated her to work out her own reasonings far away from the dialogue with
her Omniscient Creator. The “serpent” was going such path and convinced Mankind
to follow it as well.
In Genesis 3:3 and 4, the serpent said its version
totally opposed to what the Divine Being had said about death. It has led
Mankind to believe that death would not hurt anybody; and it swore “with
absolute certainty” that they would not die. God gave free speech to the
“serpent”, it is up to us to decide whom to trust.
The second assertion of the “serpent” is in Génesis
3:5: it says that Mankind would achieve God’s knowledge, even while staying
away from the divine instruction. Solely with our efforts, with no divine
guidance, we would be able to achieve the knowledge of a perfect and eternal
God.
But what did they recognize when they reached their first
decision to create an ethics without a previous dialogue with the Creator?
Genesis 3:13 tells us that Eve recognized she had been deceived by the
“serpent”.
After their decision to touch and eat the fruit, they
saw that they were naked.
What the nakedness means is explained in Apocalypse
3:17-18: You say: “I am wealthy and I don’t need anything” but you don’t
recognize that you are blind, that you are a beggar and that you are naked. I
advise you: buy gold refined by fire from Me and you’ll become rich; buy white
clothes and put them on to hide your shameful nakedness.
Their nakedness was the lack of knowledge coming from
the Creator, the knowledge they were used to receive regularly, because the
Creator was constantly chatting with them. But they liked the idea of reaching
decisions when alone, and afterwards they discovered that they were there
without understanding what was right and what was wrong. They realized it only
after they reached a decision under the influence of a being which was not
their Creator and Omniscient Teacher. At this point they started feeling
ashamed for their debased condition. In Genesis 3:11, God answered them about
their shameful (debased, without knowledge) condition: earlier, they had
experienced how good it was to know what was right and what was wrong, through
the help of a Omniscient Being.
Now, for us, the descendants, what is the solution for
us to go back and receive the divine teachings? What are we going to do to come
back to the school of the Eden?
In Génesis 3:15, God gave us hope to win, but the
victory will be only for those who will destroy the philosophy of the serpent;
the philosophy that leads us to look for all kinds of instruction and to stay
away of the knowledge coming directly from the only being who is omniscient! No
other being would ever give us instruction, since any instruction and any
ethical decision not guided by Him leads to death and deception. I have
numerous experiences in my life where I was rescued from death and tribulations
by asking Him for an answer.
That no serpent deceives us, since what results from
sin is death and that’s why till today nobody has achieved eternal life, on the
contrary, we are all dying!
Génesis 3:15 is a prophecy with an important symbol
because it shows us Mankind as a winner when it crushes the head of the
serpent.
Although the serpent tries to bite our heels, and we
are still today as Edip, the kid, running around with his wounded foot because
his father made a mistake while decoding his oracles. Some day, in the future,
our descendants will annihilate the influence of the serpent, its willingness
that Mankind lives apart from the instruction by the Omniscient Being. We all
know that away from His instruction we’ll never get good results while reaching
decisions nor will we achieve eternal life.
According to Genesis 3:15, those who follow the
philosophy of the serpent will never reach a consensus; on the contrary, human
philosophies will bring us only enmities. Anyone who decides to get guidance
from the Omniscient Being for all decisions in life, he or she will win and
crush the head of the serpent.
According to Genesis 3:24, we need to go back to the
school of the Eden where we find all trees; all life sciences will be available
and we’ll learn how to extend our life since the science for the eternal life
will be there as the main teaching in His school.
Eden is still there
waiting for us and ready to give us its fruits to nourish our intellect with
what is really good from the Divine Being point of view; and with His
instruction we’ll know how to move away from what is really bad.
We do have to recognize, as quickly as possible, that
the divine school is available and that, if we want to govern ourselves far
from the Omniscient Being, then we’ll remain in a debased condition, in a
spiritual and intellectual nakedness.
Without His instruction, we’ll never know how to
destroy the head of the serpent! We’ll do something thinking that it is right
but it is wrong, we’ll avoid doing something thinking that it is wrong but He
would change it into something right.
I like to quote Isaías 5:20,21, a true essay which was
given to me when I was trying to explain that, quite often, we eat poison which
tastes like honey and we are accepting a wrong word without noticing that God can
speak with us and give us His opinion; yes, we can chat with Him, exactly as
when we ask fellow humans for their opinion. He was the one who taught us how
to dialogue, wasn’t He? Why not to use this ability to dialogue, to speak with
Him?
Remember that our divine Creator has prepared
thousands of treasures which are hidden from us, for the simple reason that we
have not yet shown we deserve to see and acquire them!
